转发一个通知：10月31日在上海的利丰集团会有一个Leadership Conference，06-07年去港大交流的获得冯氏奖学金的同学，可以报名去参加此次会议。会议地点在上海市宜山路2000号。会有冯国经博士出席，在上海的同学不要错过这次机会。

Since our Leadership Conference 2008 on 4 October 2008, we have seen the effect of the worst financial crisis in recent years, especially in the USA. A few well-known companies have ceased to exist. Some business models, which had been well-accepted in the past, might have been changed permanently. Business leaders are struggling to find ways for sustainable business growth, if they ever survive this crisis. There have been disagreements among economists as what to do to restore confidence and growth. Some have predicted a prolonged period of recession. Wall Street (the finance market) appears to have made some recovery recently whilst the High Street (the real economy) still suffers from weak demand and increasing unemployment.

如何更好的准备“Humorous Contest”
今天是Shanghai People’s Square Toastmasters Club的第289次会议，今天会议有一个重要的环节就是分享：
小小分享了如何更好的准备“Humorous Contest”
她提供了准备的方法就是
4“R”原则：
1.Rule
首先要知道Toastmasters humurous Contest的比赛规则，这样才可以更好的准备自己的比赛演讲；
2.Write
小小推荐了两个学习的方法，第一个方法就是去Youtube搜索Champion Videos, 第二个就是去搜索Champion演讲的Scripts,可以模仿冠军的演讲，学习他们演讲的内容和表达方式。
3.Rehearsal
需要不断的练习，因为Toastmasters的比赛对时间的要求非常的好，哪怕你超过时间1秒都会让整个演讲fail掉，而且humorous contest一个很重要的要素就是，你需要考虑给观众“笑”的时间，要把这部分的时间考虑到你的演讲当中去，
看看世界冠军Darren的自己的录像带，就知道他练习了多少次，冠军背后都是不懈的努力和练习。
4.Resource
Internet是最好的资源了，小小推荐了台湾的Toastmasters网站，上面有很好的参考信息。
Use blog to build credibility
Lots of friends are like me, host their own blog on wordpress. Actually, thanks to Great Fire Wall, more and more people, not only the geeks, including some people konw nothing about wordpress began to buy their own domain and set their own blog by using wordpress. The problem is that sometimes they did not know what to write about. Personally, I set up my own blog: daibin.info for nearly 2 years. Look what I got:Page Rank2, nearly 200 pageviews everyday. I wrote something about wordpress,google,toastmasters; but it seems that this blog neither gave me the chance to launch my name-brand nor change my life.
I started to ask myself: what do I want to get from my blog?
I just read a article about blog in May 2009 Toastmaster® Magazine.I found some valuable advices about blogging, I want to share this with my blog readers. This article gave me a chance to rethink my blog.

How can we use blog to build our credibility?
- Become a filter: become a expert of your area
- use your blog to review books or products in your industry
- interview other professionals and turn your blog into a resource
- blog on current trends. keeping your finger on the pulse of what’s going on will show that you are in touch with your market.
I think the key argument of this advice is “Be Professional!”
People like to listen to or have a tendency to follow to these professional guys, so we can set the major goal of your blog as a place to publicize your professionalism. Just find what you really like and keep on writing blogs about that area.

前面我们谈到了“3”原则，如果能在第三个元素上面增添一个“twist”，就会在你的演讲当中创造出幽默点来。
比如一个常见例子：
“世间有三类谎言：撒个小谎，无耻谎言，统计数据”
为什么这种形式能够创造出幽默点来呢？我们来分析分析。
首先：
前两个元素（撒个小谎，无耻谎言）在听众的脑子设置下了套，他们期待下一个词汇会是“惊天谎言”或者“弥天大谎”。幽默就是来自于这种人们的期望和实际情况的巨大差异。
我非常喜欢这种方式，因为就像魔术师一样，一只手用来吸引我们的注意力，另外一只手悄悄的变个戏法出来。在演讲当中这个方式可以让观众“下套”，从而放大这种夸张的效果。
因此，幽默元素的“3”原则就非常简单了。
1.下套：首先用两个元素引导观众，这些元素可以是词，词组或者句子。
2.让观众“入套”：用第三个元素。让你的第三个元素越荒唐越好，越出乎听众预料越好，但是注意还是需要和前面两个元素是有联系的。
在我的“face the wind”演讲中，我用了一个幽默“3”原则来做演讲的开头：
“18月前，我和我老婆把小公寓的钥匙换成了大房子的钥匙。我们的住房面积翻番了，我们的还贷增长了3倍，我们的收入一毛都没变。”
这个”3″原则是成功的，因为观众想住房面积增长了2倍，还贷增长了3倍，听众想收入应该是增长了4倍才对。这样就打破了他们的期望值。
平时可以好好观察一下那些stand-up comedians,学习他们使用这个法则。
在看晚上的talk shows的时候，你会发现第一句是介绍这个话题的，第二句是是用来和第一句配合，建立一个”pattern”.第三句话用来打破这个”pattern”.
比如我在介绍Toastmasters的时候，我常常用下面这句话来激发年轻人参加Toastmasters：
“演讲不仅可以帮你赢得，金钱，钻石,珠宝;自信，尊重，更重要的是，女孩的芳心。”
切记，3原则的最后一个元素是决定你是否幽默，让人无法忘怀的关键。
